To be able to access Viridor IT systems, including M365 [Email, Teams, SharePoint, Intranet, OneDrive, MS-Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint] and corporate systems [Gatehouse, PowerBi, Dynamics, Ellipse, etc] you need to log in to the Viridor network using a Viridor Username and Password supported by Multi-Factor Authentication [MFA].

MFA is where we need to use something other than your username and password to prove you are who you are so that if your username and password has been compromised or stolen it is not enough for the miscreant to log in to Viridor systems for malicious activity. That MFA can be that you are using a Viridor PC, are on a Viridor site network. In those cases the MFA check is done invisible to you and you pass. If you are not on a Viridor network [as in WFH] or using personal equipment then the MFA check needs to use something else such as you using a mobile phone to get a pin number to confirm who you are.

Also, 98% of the time our access is UK based and much of the attempts to hack into username accounts comes from outside of the UK we also have checks against where the log in attempt is coming from. If outside of the UK and you have not notified us of that you will be blocked. There is a Service Request Form to tell us if you need access outside of the UK.

You will have been given your username and an initial password when you join Viridor. When you first log in you will be asked to change this password to one that is personal to you. There are rules for what this can be and details for this will be provided to you. You will also be asked to set up the MFA options for when you are not on the Viridor network. You can chose from several options such as a pin number via a text message, the use of an MFA app on your phone, an email, or even a telephone call.

You will also need to change that password on a regular basis to ensure it remains safe. You will get 10 days upfront notice on when this will be needed and what the rules are. You can change your password at any time, especially if you think it has been compromised.

If you have forgotten your password you can ask for it to be reset for you by contacting the IT Service Desk or you can use the Password Reset Self-Service if you have set that up. If you have locked yourself out of your account by typing your password in too many times it will reset after 30 minutes automatically or you can contact the IT Service Desk to help you.

Password Rules can be found here.
